So I started my pistol build today. I have an Anderson lower and I installed a CMMG lower parts kit (everything besides the rear pin and buffer retainer because I don't have a tube or receiver end plate). I also tossed a Magpul MOE+ grip on it in FDE because I managed to grab myself an SB15 brace in FDE.

I happen to have a spare Brownell A1/A2 stock kit with the spring and buffer but without an receiver end plate that's no good.

What is everyone here doing to run their pistols and SB15 setups. I use Magpul MS1 style slings and would like an end plate that can accommodate a 1 or 2 point attachment. Also what are some of the better buffer tube, spring, buffer setups on a pistol. I have no idea what I'm doing for an upper yet, so I guess just an all around good looking reliable setup. Feel free to post some gun porn along with what you are using. I just need some fresh inspiration.

I went with a Phase 5 Hex 2 tube for my SB15.

I too am building an FDE furniture parts on Mega receivers.

I have SO MANY parts laying around that through out the years I acquired a pistol buffer and springs.

I just bought the brace off amazon that came with the buffer tube for it

ive read about problems with them being too loose or too tight
figured this was about the same price as just the brace from brownells I had ordered then magically goes out of stock before they shipped it

amazon already shipped mine should be here today

I have seen mixed reviews on that tube. You can buy the sig SB15 tube kit on amazon for about $50 but I didn't know if there was something either better priced or better overall... Just other options.

Im liking that Hex2. What end plate do you have with it and is the brace tight on the tube? Rotation or backing off issues?

I thought I had read recently sig will stop selling the braces alone and start selling them with a tube for like $250
I thought maybe this was the fact with this purchase but since it ended up like $10 more then brownells brace only I believe its not much of a loss if the tube wont work out with the brace

I have the tube that comes with the pistol upper kit too but wont know how anything fits until my orders come in

If Sig starts selling brace kits for $250 they will probably not sell so well... The bare brace can be had somewhere around $115-145. Then they sell the bare kit for about $50 and other tubes for less than that... I think people will be up set being ripped off about $50-75+

But it is theirs so they can do whatever they want... Maybe MSRP will be $250 with a street price around $180-200

I am looking for a compact package myself right now. I don't mind my nose riding on the charge bar and I mount my XPS2-0 pretty far forward so it doesn't take up as much of my vision. So what length tube do I need to get that brace up against the end plate, and what end plate can I run to still have a sling point?

Here is the start of my pistol build. the FDE of the MOE Grip and SB15 are way off... But I'm not one for looks... Hell I didn't even tape this receiver when I put it together and I used a normal 18oz utilitarian hammer... Don't need no stinking special tools.

It came with a standard end plate, I have a VLTOR single sling ring that I will be using. I went with the Hex 2 for the advertised fit and flow and I didn't see any neg reviews of it here and in the pistol build pic thread, a few people have them.

ETA:

Dunno, about the rest. Everything is in pieces still

I have a few more odds and ends to go..then she'll be built. Spending time with my basement remod/ finish now.

So I broke down and ordered the Phase 5 Pistol Buffer Tube Complete Assembly and ABS (Arm Brace Stop)... Really over what I budgeted myself but you only live once and if I only make one AR Pistol I figured why not... Should have everything by the end of the week and I will post up the completed lower.

Phase 2 will be the upper build. Still have no idea.
