You can get pretty close by taking a long 1/4 clevis pin and cutting to the proper length.  Then drill the hole recess in the end...a small lathe makes this much easier.
You would need to send out to be parkerized or you could use Norrels for the proper color match.  

The only thing I haven't figured out is how to retain the ball and spring after drilling the recess for them.  (I imagine the spring and ball would have to be installed after parkerizing or heat curing with Norrels to avoid damaging the heat treated spring)

Anyone out there figured out how to properly swag the ball detent hole smaller to retain it?

There is a tool made for crimping them in. I saw one today via a google search.

I just can't remember where it was.
