Let's say someone were to have a plain out of the factory Oracle from DPMS.  It has a Nikon 223 1-4x scope, but that's it.  What accessories would be good upgrades and additions?  Just looking for some suggestions.

good sling and light are my only real must haves. Other stuff is just preference.

OP don't over think it. It is not a swiss army knife. Think about what you need

and not what looks cool.

How about a Magwell mag grip?

I certainly don't want to over think accessories.  The point about a sling is a great one.  Don't have rails to hook a light to yet.  I am asking for thoughts to avoid the "looks cool" purchases and get right to the "makes it work better" type of things.

If you use the magwell as a grip you are wrong.

You don't need "rails" to mount a light.  A light and sling are good solid suggestions, seriously.

Show us a picture of this rifle.

Only thing missing is one of these, or 2 or 3

1. Clamp gear/accessories on it until you can barely pick it up
2. Take pics
3. Brag to friends
4. Actually use gun
5. Realize how stupid all the add-ons are
6. Remove all add-ons (except optic, sling, light)

Carry on...

LOL. so true. Mags and ammo are #1 no need in a 12lb. carbine!

REALLY, Bro? I put one on my carbine - freakin' awesome. Have to file-out a groove for the rib on the back of a Pmag so it'll drop free - but easy to do. Just ordered a second one for my 20"rifle - it is less "low drag high-speed ninja" but the feel and the help w. slapping the mags in is so worth it!

DO IT - BUY ONE - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO...

Hold on! (runs to kitchen, gets can of Dew. runs back and reads post again) - LOL - Just shot double-nostril Mountain Dew all over the keyboard!  On my first build I bought all of these grips, rails, gizmos, whizzmos... out the butt. Guess who has a big Squirrel Box full of stuff now? It's amazing how cool your imagined AR is versus the reality of having it all bolted together, shouldering it and thinking "Wait a minute..."  and then the classic "Oh Fuuuuuudge,,,"

Put all the things on it.

Most people go through phases, new gun, put way to much shit on it, realize almost none of it is needed, take all the shit off, get bored with it....

Personally, and optic and a predator hunting light is all I have.

I just recently got a DPMS oracle as well.

What ive put on mine so far is an optic, iron sights, and a new handguard.
Plus a good bit of ammo and mags.

It shoots great! You'll love it

I've been doing good stocking up on ammo and mags, but in a holding pattern now.  Waiting for prices to drop a little (if they ever do).  I do have a couple of the important things, a membership to the NRA and the local range.
It does shoot pretty well!
