After my poll in the GD told me I need to buy an Ar15 in5.56 I was inspired by The IDF/KISS thread to follow through with that.

So far I think I'm going to go with a 16" Delton lightweight rifle kit here .
This will run around 475$ Depending on options.

I was planning on getting the Stag Lower from the EE for 110$ Shipped

The total now comes to 585$ Plus shipping and transfer on the lower. This is a good price for me and will leave me some change to pick up a .22 conversion kit and some ammo.

So, keeping in mind: A I want to keep the rifle as cheap as possible. and B I would like to make this rifle an IDF clone while still adhering to A; are there any suggestions?

Also can someone clarify which flashhider and upper I should go with?
Thanks!

be sure to get a chrome lined barrel.  They are well worth the extra $$$.

I've been looking more into it and I was wondering if there might be an advantage to do an all stag build and just buy all stag parts and put it together myself to save 100-175$. Is there any significant bonus to this? It would be cheaper to go with Delton kit but would this be a significantly better rifle? I guess the finish would match better!

I have the exact same setup DEL-TON lightweight kit with STAG lower and have had no problems at all only couple of months old and 300 rnds. but its a keeper.

Very sweet rifle...reinforces my original idea so I will not sped the extra$$ for the STAG name upper

ETA the stag upper is 545. The Delton kit is 525...With the Stag though I still have to buy the LPK,,,,.....
