Thank you, you are the first person that even attempted to answer my question. |
Me neither. Course I am always out of the loop. Guess that's why they sold it to me.

Absolutely true! I read that the Bushmaster acquisition is actually backed by Colt financiers, operating through a paper-tiger corporation, forcing Bushmaster to cease firearm production, and, thus, force BM to make baby diapers. Glock is getting out of the gun business and will start making composite shoes with a safety tie. Rock River Arms recently completed a hostile takeover of itself, in order to protect itself from an inside hostile takeover. In other news, DPMS secretly acquired a majority share holding of Lockheed-Martin... |
Where have you been? See that hole in the bottom of the grip behind the magazine well? Best PEZ dispenser in the known world. |

Colt defense filed a registration statement last year with the SEC, indicating their intention to "go public". (visit http://www.colt.com/law/news.asp) After that filing, no additional steps have been publicly taken to move the IPO forward. Colt could be for sale -- firms draw attention when they file for IPO's. With the Bushmaster sale, Colt could be showing up on some radar screens of private equity shops, so a sale is entirely possible. I there any way for us to find out without being in the buyout business or an insider at Colt? No. My guess is that part of the company is sold, and that an IPO does not occur. Swandog |

Did a little research, but thanks for the effortHolding Upon completion of the acquisition, Saco Defense will become part of General Dynamics Armament Systems, and will be known by that name. General Dynamics Armament Systems, based in Burlington, Vermont, will honor the current labor contract with the represented employees of Saco Defense. Saco Defense is one of the world’s leading producers of small and medium caliber machine guns, cannon barrels and complementary equipment. It is the sole producer of the MK-19 40mm automatic grenade launcher for the U.S. armed forces, and is in the final stages of development of a next-generation automatic grenade launcher called Striker. Saco Defense products are in the inventories of more than 40 countries; they complement the high-rate-of-fire Gatling-type weapons produced by General Dynamics Armament Systems. General Dynamics Armament Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, which is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. General Dynamics employs approximately 43,000 people worldwide and has annualized sales of approximately $10 billion. The company has leading market positions in business aviation, information systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and land and amphibious combat systems. New Colt Holding Corp., a diversified defense supplier of light arms, is headquartered in West Hartford, Connecticut. More information about the company can be found on the World Wide Web at www.colt.com. |
