Any one going to help a new Ar 15 Guy? You might wanna wait more than 27 mins before worrying about a reply You are also going to need either the pins for the gas block or make sure u have Allen wrenches etc for the set screw clamp on types ( the pins might come with the gas block) You are going to need an armorers wrench (which type varies depending on your barrel nut I.e. Whether or not you are using a standard one) A hammer and really a good vice although some people will say you don't need a vice An actual parts lists with manufacturers etc would be helpful Head to Psa and you can get most of the parts you need just buy a lower parts kit instead of trying to buy the small parts seperately. Is this your first ar? Oh and almost forgot a good set of punches! |

Hi,
No, that's not quite all the parts. You have a lot of variables there. You mention the port door, but no forward assist. Will your upper have forward assist? You'll need a crush or a peel washer. Your lower reliever is missing several parts, springs, detents, the bolt catch, trigger guard. You should by a complete lower parts kit without the trigger group, buying all the little parts individually would cost too much. Have fun with it Rome wasn't built in a day. Good luck, welcome, and happy shooting. -W |

Download and print that pdf (hole punched and put mine in a binder). Then watch some youtube videos that show how to assemble an AR, they will show you what parts you need and how to do it. (watch several different peoples videos not all are the same) Then go back tot he pdf and review it, it is daunting since it can walk you through buying every little roll pin, but depending on what you want some stuff will be included of come as an assembly as opposed to individual parts. Front sight/gas block for example.
Read and reread http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_4/226782_Assemble_your_own_LOWER__UPPER__FREE_FLOAT__TRIGGER__GAS_BLOCK___Step_by_step_instructions_.html It seems hard but it really is not, just read and watch lots of videos so you know, or at least have an idea of, what you want. |

First don't buy all the small parts individually rather kits (cheaper and easier to keep track of).
1. Lower receiver 2. Lower parts kit 3. Buffer extention/tube assembly 4. Buttstock 5. Upper receiver 6. Delta slip ring assembly 7. Flash hider, muzzle brake, or Compensator 8. Barrel nut 9. Gas block 10. Gas tube with pin 11. Handguard/Rail 12. Barrel 13. Complete forward assist assembly 14. Ejection port cover assembly kit 15. Bolt carrier group 16. Charging handle 17. Front and rear sights There are other options too Del-ton, DPMS, and Palmetto State Armory sale "build kits" that include everything besides the lower receiver (buy that seperately). Another route is buy Damage Industries complete lower assembly and get their Tri-assembly pack then piece together parts from other places. |
