| I am in the process of rebarreling an AR due to a bulge in the barrel. I ordered a cheap M4 profile barrel from Sportsman Guide. The original barrel had a A2 front sight. I am going to reuse the A2 front sight on the new barrel. The new barrel does not have holes or grooves drilled into it, so that when I drive the pins back into the front sight it cannot pass the barrel or hold to anything. Any suggestions on what my options are? |

first suggestion: get rid of the barrel from sportsman's guide. get a good quality barrel like a rainier, spikes, daniel defense, ETC. it will last much longer and it will be more accurate/consistent.
depending on budget, i'd suggest going with a free float handguard and a low profile gas block. just throw a MBUS on the front and you're GTG. .........or send the barrel and FSB to adco to pin it. send them the barrel nut too as it has to be slipped over the barrel before the FSB is installed. |
