I'm shooting a first-gen M&P15 and just picked up a few pmags.  Too late, I found out they didn't work as-built, but searched around and sanded the highest rib to get them to fit.  They easily seat and drop free no trouble.  The problem is that the rifle will not cycle with the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the mag.  I went to the range last weekend and had 25 rounds in each mag.  The rifle fires and sounds like it cycles, but for the first ~15 shots of each mag, no round is pulled off the mag and chambered.  I shot 4 colt mags (green followers) before this and did not have a problem.  Any ideas?

Where do I find the date code?
It happened with all four that I bought, yes.

The date code is the little round marker below the mag catch. find that and give jbeard @magpul an email.

Sounds like the rifle is short-stroking from the description given.  I'll keep my eyes open for the email...
