I took my newly built 16" out to the range yesterday for its 1st test shooting. I loaded up my 2 ( I know I need more) 30 round pmags. One is a used gen1 that came with my stripped lower and the other is a new 2nd gen window. I load the 2nd gen window, chamber a round. Fire, empty case comes out but the next round gets stuck trying to feed. Clear, repeat. Same thing ftf. I did this five times with the same results. WTF 1st time out with my new gun and its already giving me problems. So I drop the mag, grab the old beat up 1st gen. Chamber, bang bang bang. No problems at all. The gun ran as it should. I fired the 30 rounds, reloaded fired 30 more. No problems. Hmm might be a mag problem. I unload the new 2ng gen. Reload it and the same thing. 1st shot is fine, then ftf. Did I get a bad 2nd gen mag or does it need to be broken in, or am I doing something wrong. Any help, thoughts, suggestions?

I've never owned any of the 1st gen pmags, but I have heard stories of the early ones having issues with feeding. Probably easier to just sell it and get another gen2, m2 or m3

Check for mag movement front to rear in the receiver, i had one mag in one particular lower that if i pulled back on the mag while trying to chamber a round it would jam every time.  If I pushed forward on it, no problems.

Try this.  If it makes a difference, try screwing in teh mag catch in 1 turn.

Could just be a bad mag... it does happen now and then, even to pmags!

What upper/barrel do you have? M4 feed ramp receiver vs non-feed ramped barrel extension?

Can you post a picture of how the round gets stuck?

P mags sometimes don't run in some Ar's. Always keep a few mags like the Military ones made by Colt, D&H, etc. on hand.
