I remember people posting that Pmags tend to not drop free in a certain brand of lower, but can't remember which brand.  Anybody know?

Many PMags have problems with many different lowers.

Some of the tighter lowers include a certain batch of RRA and I believe either Superior or Essential lowers. Also lots of POF.

But it is not really a lower issue.

Magpul has now officially sanctioned sanding down the two ribs on the rear to alleviate this issue.

Also it seems to happen in my LMT lowers as well.

Well, it's good to know that only 2 lowers have problems.

"But it is not really a lower issue."
Actually, many times it is.  Unless you have an actual Colt or FN M16/M4 your 'mil-spec' lower was reversed engineered.  Colt rarely releases the TDP on their receivers and as such most all other brands vary in their dimensions.  There are many different ways to create a magwell too such as machining, broaching, and wire EDM and these can also have an effect on how a magazine will drop free.  We individually gauge each and every PMAG that leaves the warehouse to be able to drop from an M16/M4 but some receivers simply have tighter dimensions than that.  In fact, in order to make for a more 'precision fitting' lower, many manufacturers' make their lowers ever tighter and tighter over time.
Why will a USGI alloy mag drop and sometimes the PMAG will not?  Well, that's mostly because of our improved design.  Few people question the robustness of the PMAG as well as its smooth feeding characteristics (due in part to the constant-curve internal geometry).  These features, however, require as much room as we can get out of an M16/M4 magwell, including the proper USGI chamfer at the entrance.
With all that being said, we are constantly improving upon our design and manufacturing processes (as well as increasing capacity) to refine an already successful and military proven magazine fielded by the hundreds of thousands all around the world.
Oh, the two raised pads on the rear of the PMAG were added to take up slack in the looser magwells- they can therefore make tighter magwells a bit more finicky...

I have three ARs: One Bushy and two Armalites. My PMags drop free 100% from my Bushy but fit tight in my Armalites.

So, people with Armalites, take caution.

Other than this slightly annoying issue, I have found PMags to be the finest magazines I've ever used.

I've got a CMMG lower.  The 20 round pmags are pretty snug but my 30s drop free with no problems.

I have used them in my RRA and CMMG lowers with no problems.  I have also used the same mags in a Vietnam era Colt AR15/M16 and they dropped free and functioned perfectly in full auto.

I had one Pmag.  It dropped free from my Bushies.  I sold it to someone that wanted it.

Well, Ill add my findings as well. My Bushy AR drops the Pmag 30's free everytime- but my Pmag 20's dont drop free from the same reciever. No big deal for me realy- They feed the beast just fine.
