Is anyone using a portable shooting table with their AR? I've gotta shoot on the neighbors property and they won't allow me to build a permanent table.....I end up shooting off the hood of my truck and that sucks.

I refuse to go to the public ranges with the rest of the idiots in the world......can anyone recommend a solid portable shooting table for use with an EBR?

Here's a bench I made. I glued 2 pieces of 5/8" plywood together, then used screws to pull them together. I then sawed the cutouts using a hand held jigsaw.
The legs were from Home Depot and a re bolted on using carriage bolts with rounded heads. I screwed a  piece of 2x4 to the bottom of the table so the legs will fold flat.

I found plans for one a few years back, never got the chance to build it.

If you have a "workmate" type of portable workbench, you can make an insert for that.  I basically took a piece of 2x4 and screwed a couple of pieces of plywood to the top––a wide piece in the front, and a narrower one in the back.  You just use the 2x4 portion to clamp it into the workmate.  It's a simple and inexpensive way to build yourself a portable bench that doesn't have to be a dedicated bench.  I just use a plastic lawn chair to sit in, and it works pretty well.

My friend and I built ours from 2x4 tables w/folding legs.  These were on sale locally for 20.00 each.  We cut out a notch like the above table and moved the legs over since the cut out forced these to be moved.    20.00, 1 cut, a few new screw holes for the new leg location, and it was done.  It looks like a miniture version of the above table...
