I was reading a Bushmaster catalog and I saw that their post ban barrels can be stepped or crowed. What's the difference? Thanks |

This is a "stepped" or recessed crown: [img]www.cmmginc.com/cmmg_images/tbl_images/Receivers%20Firearms/308_Barrel_Crown.jpg[/img] The idea behind this is to protect the actual crown by recessing it into the end of the barrel, so if the muzzle is whacked on something, the damage will be to the outside of the barrel and not the actual crown. Gives me some insurance against my natural clumsiness. |
