Hello All. I have a Colt Sporter II (Pre-Ban) and I am looking to put a post ban newer upper reciever on it. I know that the front take down pin is a different size and I know that there is a conversion pin built for this purpose. Can anyone tell me where to get it? I would really appreciate the help. | If you have a large hole pivot pin (0.312") and a small hole upper (0.250") then you need the offset pivot pin. Bushmaster has them for around $6.00 last I checked. Part number NES-06. However just about anybody who sells AR parts will have the same thing. DPMS, Brownells, etc. |
If you buy the part recommended above, you will end up hating it with a passion. Why? Because it will rotate out of position every time you open up the action, and it WON'T rotate back when you close it, which will mean you'll have to drag out two screwdrivers and reset the damn thing before you can close your piece. The only adapter I've found that won't do this is the duplicate of the unit that Colt made some years back.. This piece has a large head on the right side, and once set, it stays in position for opening and closing. This one you can get from CDNN www.cdnninvestments.com. But try to find something else to buy from them while you're at it. They have a single price for shipping parts, so you might as well get some mags or something to reduce per item shipping cost.
