I’m having trouble removing a LaRue barrel nut on an M&P 15.  I’m using a Wheeler Combo wrench to try and remove the barrel nut, but the pins on the wrench aren’t long enough to get a good grab on the barrel nut.  This is due to the depth of the LaRue Handrail nut.

Does anyone know if the PRI (Precision Reflex Inc.) wrench pins are longer than the pins on a Wheeler wrench?

Thanks,

measure the pins on your wheeler and post your findings.

the PRI pins protrude approx. 3/8" from the face of the tool.

The Wheeler measures 6mm, but due to 2 small rivets, it  probably nets to 5mm.

Thanks

Found a wrench (no brand name) with 10mm pins at the Fort Worth gun show.  Worked like a champ, no more stuck barrel nut!

FWIW

The PRI wrench works great on the Larue nuts.
