Carbon-fiber rod.  I think it was made by Dewey, but since I'm at the office now, I can't check.

I have a Dewey, but I also made a bunch of cleaners from string trimmer line.  I took a soldering iron and melted the end into a loop.  These things are great for running patches through when you are in a rush.  They are the best for cleaning match grade .22 rimfires that you don't want any bore rod going through.

The weed-whacker line cleaning method is the only method I ever use to clean my stainless 10/22 T model.  I  bought a 'patch-worm' to use at the range and have been telling myself that when it finally wears out I'll start making my own out of trimmer string.  It's been about 4 years now and it still hasn't worn out yet.

Otis, it's not a rod but rather an epoxy coated cable.

The 24" Dewey 22 cal cleaning rod is the best.  I also have the full length for cleaning longer barrels.
