I am going to be mounting an LD OTAL to my rifle as soon as it gets dropped off by the big brown truck. I am currently running a SF M900 and was playing around with my rifle trying to figure out the best way to mount the pressure switch. I like to shoot with my support thumb high on the left side of the rifle and was thinking that I may be able to get away with using a Tango Down rail panel that is designed to hold a pressure switch on the left side where my thumb wants to be anyway. Has anyone tried this before? Did it work or was it a jacked up angle for your thumb to hold down the switch? While putting this post together I noticed that the rifle at the top of the TD web site is set up the way I was thing of doing things. I'm just a regular GI, nothing special, but that's how I do it. I place my support hand in the same manner. When I ran an M961 on my carbine, I used the TD panel w/ pocket for the tape switch with no problems. With an M900, I kept the panel in place and available for any other tape-activated system. Easy to activate with slight pressure as my thumb was there anyway. No problems with torqueing the gun while engaging the switch, for me. I run my hand pretty high up on a VFG or the M900, which may be why it was easy. |
