When looking at flash hider tests I have always thought that I noticed how sometimes an individual round can have more or less flash... they are not consistant or the same shot after shot.  Most flash test photos are just a single round... you dont know if that is best case or worst case flash for that flash hider.

I found this comparison of 14.5" barreled rifles running no flash hider, a Blackout, a Vortex, or a USGI.  It shows the best case scenario of an individual round as well as the worst case scenario of an individual round.  I think that gives a lot better idea of what you can expect overall from a flash hider.  Best case flash is on the left and worse case on the right.  Whle the A2 does fine in a best case scenario it can occasionally have a horrible flash.  The Vortex also occasionally throws some sparks.  This seems to jive completely wth what I have noticed so I thought I would share it for those who have not seen it.  Also there is not a photot missing on the right side of the no muzzle device... it is just so bright it whited ou tthe frame.

Thanks for the info.  Interesting and revealing.  I can only shoot during the daytime at my range, but good things to know for later.
