I know things are crazy now.  I have an opportunity to buy a NIB Colt m4 upper (14.5" with no flash hider, would need to pin/weld), KAC ris, full auto BCG for $800.  Jump on it?

If you would of asked this a few weeks ago the answer would be hell no. At this point in time things are worth what you are willing to pay. I t hink overpaying for uppers right now is crazy. Wait a few weeks or months and they will be readily available again.

That price isn't out of the ballpark unfortunately even prior to the latest BS. I haven't seen a NIB/take off 6921 upper for less than $700 in a long time and the RAS are usually $100-150 depending on condition.

Truth be told it was cheaper for me to buy a M4 marked 6920 for just under $1000, score a NIB 14.5" Colt M4 barrel for $225, pin a FH, then swap barrels and sell the LNIB 16" M4 barrel for what I paid for the 14.5".

Buy it I just saw 2 6921 uppers sell for 1200.00 & 1250.00 with times being crazy right now I think its a reasonable price.
I also saw a 6920 upper sell for 1250.00

That's not that bad of a deal. I remember buying complete new 14.5" M4 upper from Clyde's for $999 about 5 years ago. with the KAC it's a fair price.

This is what I did on my last two...bought the new 14.5" barrel and put it on a 6920 upper, permed the extended A2 and sold off the 16" barrel. Pretty much broke even.

I have a 6920 lower, well in the mail, that I'm gonna hold onto for a while.  If a new AWB is worded the same all Colt lowers, that I know of, left the factory as a complete rifle.

If the factory uppers are to high you can always keep an eye on the EE for bits and pieces to put together.

Sounds fair if that is the setup you want.

I just sold a barely used one with BCG and CH for 550.
I don't mind as long as he doesn't turn and sell it for more with these crazy times.
