A good friend of mine at work has a mint, unfired Colt AR15 A2, triangular handguards and all, that he bought new (from WalMart!!)  in 1976.

Can anyone provide a guesstimate on what this this would be worth in todays market  ????

Thanks

Anyone else have an opinion ?????

My friend was a manager with Wal Mart back then and claims to have paid only $150 for it !!!!!

I told him yesterday that I would gladly double his money...but he wouldn't take it.

You mean A1.  A2 is a later evolution.

that is a tough question every thing is so inflated. Before the panic i found a like new colt sp1 it was fired but looked new it was going for $1000. Make him a reasonable offer .sounds like a good find .

Just the collector value would be better than 2k. Get some pics of it so we can all drool over it.. Post a few of the box it came in......................
