I think I have found my M4 red-dot sight.

I like it because I can replace the battery without losing zero/removing the sight. Does anyone have any thoughts on this combo for a Benelli M4? Is this optic as good as it appears?

I used to put a Docter Optics sight on my Benelli M4, unfortunatly i took it off due to the lack of QR ability

Dispite the lack of QR, the sight itself was perfect! Very low profile, lined up good, and it looked great too!

From what i hear the Pride & Fowler is a really good mini-red-dot, and obviously the LaRue mount (the low profile im guessing?) will be perfect for it. Plus it will be very durable due to the protective cage.

I say go for it!

Here is the e-mail I recieved:

Hi Jon,

that’s why we put the battery trap door on top. Battery life is 1-year if you turn it off when not in use. For combat and police

work, recommend changing out every 6 months. We also have the auto mode , the light sensor adjusts to ambient lighting.

It won’t lose zero once you are dialed. Will hold up to pounding most sights collapse.  uses a 1620 button battery.  Thanks.

I asked about battery life and if it would take the pounding from slugs from my M4.

I have had a Pride Fowler as part of the LaRue Iron Dot going on five years.  I am still on the first battery and probably have had it running for 200 hours.  I turn it off after every session unlike my Aimpoints which I leave on all the time.  It has been a great sight on my 7.5" Diplomat.

My experience (with a PF/Larue Iron dot combo) is very similar.

The only down side to the sight is that it turns off when entering a darkened area with very little ambient light.

How? It has a full on/off switch.

thats why i liked the Docter Optics sight so much.

It never turned off, just went into a "sleep" mode where the dot was just bright enough to use when pitch black.

Battery lasts supposedly 5 years in "sleep" mode.

I just wish someone made a low profile QR mount for it, and i still would have it

Supposedly LaRue has it 'on the list' but supposedly a lot of other things on that list too

The full on mode is super bright (for use in bright sunlight). If you try to use it in a darkened area (without a light) you will be blinded by the huge red bloom.
