I posted another topic about finding a Vortex instock, but at its lowest sale cost. I was suggested a Primary Arms red dot sight, which is $69.00. My question is: Between the Vortex Strikefire and the Primary Arms 30mm Red dot, which is of better quilty?

never used a vortex, but I have the Primary arms and absolutely love it! Cant beat the price & quailty, super sturdy, overall solid optic/mount.

I hear ya on how it is super sturdy, but if I were to take my gun out for a quick ride on the four wheeler across the farm I do not want it to loose Zero if it were to bang on the gas tank or fall off. We always hear, "you get what you pay for," and I do not want to spend 70 dollars on a sight when a step up is only 135-150. I understand that these sights are not Aimpoints and are not made to drop out of a helicopter, but falling off my ATV while chasing down a fox, should be reasonable to ask for below $200.

I had a vortex and for the money it can't be beat. Red/green dot and you can adjust the brightness. Comes with a 3x magnifier also which helps.

I am running several primary armed red dots.

Helped Marshall and Scott test one of them on the K.sG shogun shooting buckshot.

I'm sold on the primary arms red dots.

+1 for the Vortex Strikefire.. Would highly recommend it.

The screw on magnifier is 2x tho not 3x..

The PA dots are great, but in bright sunlight they get a bit dim.

I have a Primary Arms Micro Dot and Magnifier and love the combo. Hasn't failed me yet. Used it on two heavy action-ed classes which included dropping down prone and smacking the rifle here and there while moving into cover, etc and it held zero all the way through the end. Haven't had to adjust it yet.

The Primary Arms Micro Dot should be OK. They work well for what they are.

Both are made in China. You are paying for the Vortex advertising campaign, and the fact that they have them in stock regularly.

Neither is an Aimpoint. But they don't cost what an Aimpoint does.

In true Arfcom fashion, I have both, and the Vortex has some nicer settings options (red/green, night vision/ normal brightness settings.)  The PA red dot is simple to use as it has just one dial that controls brightness.  They're both nice for the price, however if I had the money for the Vortex, that would be my choice.

At its brightest setting is the vortex brighter than the PA sight?

It seems as if they are very similar is aspects of design, but because of the Vortex warrenty, settings, and battery life I will be looking for a Strikefire on sale.
Thank you guys for all the info and opinions.
