So I FO'd on a deal at Primary Arms and picked up a Gen II Lucid M7 for $99. I don't have a microdot (only a vortex spitfire 1x and vortex strikefire II) and wanted to try one out, plus when I tried my new vortex 3x magnifier with the strikefire, the red dot was huge and blurry. I attributed this to the 4MOA dot and was happy that the M7 was 2MOA. Upon playing with my new red dot and the magnifier, I found that the dot was very star-like and/or in an arc, depending on the angle. After some quick google-fu, I realized I have astigmatism, likely from the laser eye surgery performed by Army docs over a decade ago.
Since prism optics are best for astigmatism, does anyone know of any good ones besides Vortex? I saw the Burris AR-332, does anyone have any experience with them? Just trying to get a sense for my options. |

They are supposed to release a 3x 5.56 optic sometime this year. |

The Primary Arms 2.5x is gone from their website, 3x says ETA February. I'm planning on getting one, about $100 less than the Burris and Vortex and seems to get better reviews. Yeah, I love the Spitfire 1x. If it's essentially the same price (or cheaper if you go with the 1x), I would stick with Vortex instead of trying out the PA. Anything else out there besides PA, Burris, and Vortex? Also, I know that Vortex says the magnifier is no good with their prisms but is this true for all prisms? |

I really like my now discontinued PAC4x Prism. And a magnifier on a prism would only make somewhat sense on the 1x versions. I would not try to put a 3x magnifier behind a 3x prism; optics don't really work like that. |
