I was trying to pull my new Otis patch holder through the bore, and it is stuck about 1.5" into the chamber. It is stuck pretty good. Advice? There is some CLP on the patch and I shot some more in there. Thanks!

Not anywhere near enough info here to help you much chief.

I'm assuming it's an AR-15 in .223/5.56.

Do you have the full OTIS kit?

Did you use the proper 22 caliber cleaning stuff?

AR, 5.56, Otis .22 cal slotted tip. I think I used the wrong patch, though. It's the patch that is stuck. And "it ain't movin'."

Fixed it! I unscrewed the rod fromt he barrel end, then used a coated one-piece to pop the plugged patch right out. Nothing to it, but it was a little hairy for me for a few minutes there.

soild rod change diecton try to tap it the shorest distance out.  22 are not verry patch size forgiving,

never force a patch or brush down the floor.

one more reason to have a dewy on hand.

In the field Otis is nice but compaired to a real rod like a Dewy it is junk. A good rod will out clean an Otis far and away!

I can see how a 36" 1-piece Dewey rod is better for my 24" AR-15

A Dewey rod is worth having! I've got one for my 30 cals, one for my 223s. An Otis is OK but the Dewey makes a thorough cleaning much easier to do.

I still have the rod that came with my 7.62x39 Vepr. It's not a dewey but it was just a PITA to store the rod and use it each time.

The Otis cable is slower than using a rod, but I find that its pretty much idiot proof and you can easily store it in a pouch or tackle box compartment. I'd be pretty worried about bending or snapping a 36" dewey rod (for my 24" AR-15). I use the Otis for my rifles. I'd use it for my pistols but it's a PITA to pull the 42" Otis cable through a 4"-5" barrel
