| I have run into a bit of a problem that I havn't been able to figure out yet. I was working on the first AR I built several years ago (DPMS stripped lower, DPMS A2 Mil-Spec buffer tube, RRA A2 operator stock, Spikes ST-T2 buffer, buffer spacer, and Spike's LPK), and decided to replace the Spike's buffer and spacer with a standard Rifle buffer. When I did this and re-assembled it, I found that the bolt won't fully retract. When I compare it to one of my other AR's, the bolt face is about 1/2" farther out then the others. I put it back together with the old parts and it retracts fine. There is obviously something wrong with it, but looking inside the buffer it looks fine, the spring looks fine, and the buffer is bran new (even tried putting in a buffer from another with the same result). Is there anything I am missing that I should check? My guess is that there is something wrong with the buffer tube, but I can't see anything. I might just order a new buffer tube to try that, unless there is a better suggestion. Thanks for the help. |
