Has anyone ever been given the following excuse from MOD1 Sales when ordereing short triangle parts (XM607):

"The guy who makes them's truck broke down on way from florida" "So we have to wait for him to get in and start making the handguards?".......

I seem to remember someone else here on the retro forum saying something about it a few months back?

I have been waiting over three weeks for my order to ship, even though I asked that they ship without the guards.......

If they use the "Our dog ate your order", excuse, you're really screwed...

I have only ordered from them once, they were great, although the flash hider I wanted was out of stock and they called me up to ask me if I wanted to substitute the part, everything shipped quickly.

Ironically, I recieved an email from CMMG today about my order. Then today at 5:40pm I received two packages my 607 handguards from Mod 1, and my delta ring from CMMG.Buillding AR's is like redoing my bathroom. Everthing works but I'm always one step closer and never quite finished. Shortly, I will be enjoying the Mod 1 catalog#4 in said bathroom.

Just got back from Vacation, and waiting on the doorstep was my order. Don't know how long it sat there, but glad I got it.....A little communication from model 1 would have made my day.

In 1999 when I ordered my first kit, an A2 20" kit, they told me that we were at war and that is why it was taking so long to get me my order.  They said the US Govt orders came ahead of mine...I did not know they were a govt contract mfg.

I've dealt with Model 1 Sales on and off for about ten years now.  I have always had good service from them.

Very likely, they were telling you the truth about what happened (even though it sounds dumb), but they certainly should have done a better job with communication and offering you some compensation.

Any company can have the occasional screw up.  Sometimes it is best just to let it go.  I know it sucks having to wait an excessively long time for something, but in this case I would give them one more chance if I were you.

Just my .02.

Who were we at war with in 1999?

(Did I oversleep and miss a major war?)

I do not know their history but I can relate this recent experience with Model One Sales. I just bought a set of their shorty carbine length triangle handguards assym. at a local gunshow and once home I realized the front retaining ring barrel hole was too large (for a heavy barrel). I called to see if I could get a replacement to fit the pencil barrels I am using and long story short ..they sent me two for free (arrived today) and would not take payment or the oversized one backdespite my offer! I will be buying more items from them as a thank you for their excellent service. Thanks Guys!
Willard Out!

Air war in Kosovo maybe? I think that was in 99 but I cant remember for sure.

I have only orderd from them once and I had my upper at my door in 2 or 3 days.
Great service from them and they were very polite on the phone to me. The upper is
one heck of a shooter too.

I ordered a set of hand guards from them, it took a couple of weeks. No big deal. Still haven't got to use them & they look so good too. Maybe on my next build.

Yep, it was like a week into the Kosovo thing.  Funny thing was the feed ramps on the bbl needed to be enlarged to make the rifle function, the buttstock had a "harry" feel to it, and out of al the parts that I got in that kit I think the only ones I have left are the BCG, gas tube, A2 handguards, A2 receiver, and pistol grip.  Had to sell off the buttstock, bbl, FCG, etc.

Model 1 and M&A Parts. It's where CMT, RRA and other manufactures send their blems, or out of spec parts.
