I have a gas piston conversion system in my AR 15. I installed an H3 anti-cant buffer and Wolf XP action spring to eliminate buffer tube wear. Every since I installed them when I pull back my charging handle the bolt won't lock back without me using the manual button on the side to lock it. I asked the guy at heavybuffers about this and he said it will probably take shooting a few rounds to break in the spring. 500 rounds later it still won't lock back without using the button (it does lock back properly after the last round leaves the mag though). Any ideas on what to do guys? This one has me a bit stumped...should I leave the anti tilt buffer and put the old spring back in, or or does work need to be done on the bolt catch? Thanks for your advise!...My stock is M4 six position tatical style, and that Wolf spring was a good 1/3 longer than the factory one.

Where is your brass ejecting? 1:30? 3:00? or 4:30?

I assume pulling the charging handle to the rear with an empty magazine seated will cause the bolt to lock to the rear.

Does using your old spring resolve the problem? If so, you might want to consider trimming a coil from your new spring. Continue trimming until it functions properly with the weakest ammunition you plan to run.

It's ejecting at 4:30...I'll work with the spring today, thanks for the idea.

Fixed. Cutting 1 coil off did the trick...thanks for the tip buddy!

First what are you using for a drop in system?..on the Osprey you get no carrier tilt at all and as heavy as 9mm buffers can be it can be used as long as the recoil spring is normal power.
