Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere...
I have been doing some research on how to properly zero scopes (without BDC reticles), and am wondering how exact you have to be... The ballistics calculator I have assumes a few things, and I have used factory ammo specs (I could not find the exact ammo I use here in the forums). It spit the following out, along with a ton of other data: near zero - 29.6 yards and actual zero - 268.3 yards. How accurate should you be when you first sight in the scope? Should you chrono the ammo and make sure your measurements (scope height, distance, etc) are all dead nuts? Also, are BDC reticles really that accurate in comparison to what I have calculated on my own? |
