I think I may have bought the last Bushmaster available in N.E. Ohio.  After numerous phone calls and visits to the local showrooms, finaly found an AR still available.  All the shop owners told me no AR's in stock and there was a 14 week wait minimum with some manufacturers unwilling ot unable to provide a ship date.

This shop had only 2 left.  1 DPMS (the sportical i think) and the Bushmaster M4A3 carbine.   I bought the Bushmaster for $1040.   The DPMS sold as I was filling out the paperwork.

Is there really this big of a run on AR's since the mesiah was elected?   What is the availabity of 30 rd. mags?

That brings up a good question for Bushmaster shooters.   Please give me a tip on what magazines I should get.   I will be buying as many 30 rd's as possible but dont want to waste $$ on brands with bad history or plain dont work...

Also, is the Bushmaster Piston kit really worth it?

"Hey I had a tough time getting a life jacket, you would think it would be easy on a ship the size of the Titanic!"

USGI magazines are the way to go. I hear good things about Magpul pmags, but have never used them.

Skip the piston kit. Good job not getting the DPMS testical, blech

My first AR was a post ban bushmaster with a hideous tiger stripe camo paint job. I still love that fugly bastard

thanks forthe info aimless....

This is my first AR.  I was torn between the Bushmaster and Stag.  I guess Obamama  made the decision for me.  HE might just stimualte the economy after all..

I have been shooting the hell out of my M1 carbine and  SKS, but have been thinking about making the jump to an AR.  figured my time was running out.

I hear so many pros and cons on these boards about gas impingment vs piston.  I have no trigger time to base my own opinion on.

I take it steel case ammo is not a good idea?

steel case ammo is fine. I have fired many many many cases of it through my ARs. Every once in awhile you find a lemon that it won't work with so try a box out first.

I ran about 1400 rounds through one of my carbines, mostly wolf, in a weekend class. I did lube it but that's it. These are pretty tough guns, the steel case isn't going to hurt anything.
