I've decided to go with the complete Noveske Afghan Upper from lefthandrifles.com, and should be purchasing this tomorrow. They offer KG Gun Kote for $65, but is it worth the upgrade ? I would also like to know how close the FDE color is to Magpuls or Vltors FDE (pics anyone?). This rifle will only get used a few times a year, but I don't want to coating to scratch and look worse than if I wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

Also, since I don't plan on tinkering with any upper components, is the 14.5 the right choice over the 16, since I will only be reaching out 50-100yds ?

yes on the 14.5 and sure the duracoat is worth it if that is what you want.

I figured it was, but would like to see a picture showing the color next to Magpuls or Vltors FDE. I am so pumped for my direct deposit at midnight tonite.

Just received an email from Mike at Bedrock . . . says should be finished in 2-3 weeks, just waiting on the FDE barrel from Noveske. Oh happy days.
