Being a new owner of a Colt 6920, I was wondering what are the advantages of  a Quad Rail forearm?  I'm not sure why people use them?

Thank you!

So you can attach different light, grips, etc. I am partial to the ones that are flush with the rail on the upper, like the spikes sar or bar. If you don't have or need anything, it's just for looks.

I did think the rail looked cool, and I wanted to add goodies.

Edit: My M&P15  came with the Troy MRF rail, and I put a Magpul RVG on it, and a Surefire X300.

Rail mounted bottle opener. Once that came out, I had to get a quad rail.
