This may be a dumb question, but without actually having any of my 4 uppers I have ordered for my first four builds in hand yet it's hard to figure out.

One of my uppers I have coming is http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/complete-uppers/m4-premium-16-cmv-chrome-lined-stripped-upper-without-bcg-or-charging-handle.html

I want to either put a low profile gas block or cut down the front site and put a mid length quad rail hand gaurd on.  My question is when I do that what supports the front of it, since in this case the front I supported by the front site post.

Thanks, sorry if this is a obvious answer if I was looking at one.

If you cut down the FSB and want a hand-guard that covers it, it will 'free-float' over it.
If you want to keep with the traditional hand-guards, you can still do so, they just won't cover the cut down FSB
and will 'hold' like a standard set between the delta ring and the hand-guard front plate (sic?).
