I'm looking at the:
BCM KMR15 http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-KMR15-Free-Float-Handguard-p/bcm-kmr-15-556-blk.htm 5.9oz handguard alone (Mounting hardware, 2.2oz, for a total of 8.1oz) UTG PRO AR15 15" Keymod Free Float Handguard http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=Mounting%20Systems&itemno=MTU019SSKD Can get a cerakoted version weighs 12.1 oz (doesn't specify is this is rail only or rail+mounting hardware) --- The BCM is lighter, but costs $100 more. The UTG has a cerakoted version, costs $100 less, but weighs a little more: 12.1 oz. Looking for opinions on these two or another keymod handguard/rail. |
| UTG isn't exactly known for high quality. BCM is. SLR is another good rail that's right about in the middle of those two price wise. Quality is as good as BCM, but it's made out of aluminum instead of aluminum magnesium alloy, so it's a little bit heavier and not as expensive. |

Midwest Industries is almost as light as the KMR:
http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=149 It's excellent quality and costs substantially less. Plus it has no chipping issues that I hear about with the KMR's. ETA: And they have built-in QD mounts, another advantage over the KMR's. |
| Exile machine has the kmr for substantially less than anyone else I've seen, I got a few there for around 230 shipped. I have yet to see it's equal in my personal daily goings on the ONLY downside to it is the black topcoat is less durable than traditional anodizing or cerakote but it's easily remedied with aftermarket coatings, though in my experience it's not anywhere near as bad as some make it out to be and if you use your guns any gun part is going to show wear eventually. For me the juice is worth the squeeze until something much better comes to market and I think I'll be waiting awhile. |

Get te KMR and the V7 titanium barrel nut for the KMR. LIghtest forearm out there. SLR makes real nice stuff too. |

I have a 556 Tactical KEYMOD Evolution Rail Series 12.37. It comes in a 15" as well.

| Pay attention to circumference too. I was really surprised at how much bigger around the Seekins rail was compared to the BCM KMR. In my opinion both are excellent and neither is "better", it's a matter of personal preference, something else to consider (I prefer the slimmer KMR) |

When did they start using standard barrel nuts? Quoted:

Another recommendation for MI. Built in QD attachments, slim profile, uses factory BN, lightweight (8 oz for 12") and they actually offer a Military discount. When did they start using standard barrel nuts? They didn't |
| Dude. I stand behind my UTG Pro/Leapers Rail. I have thr non Keymod Version, that being said the Keymod version is just as durable. I installed that one on my friends AR .300 Blk build. Super solid mount very light weight ZERO chattering or machining marks and it's very economical and made in the USA. You can check my build and a lot nicer than mine on the UTG rail thread. |

This splits the difference between the two you linked.
