If I remove my front sight to put a folding sight on, do I have to get a gas block? Is a gunsmith required? Would I also need to extend the handguard? The handguard has four picatinny rails already.

Thanks all!!

Yes

Except for a Bushmaster Dissipator. Tgen you just need to figure out how to retain the handguard cap. Usually a gas block does that well.

Is a gunsmith required?

Not necessarily, depends on your mechanical skill level and tools

Would I also need to extend the handguard? The handguard has four picatinny rails already.

Not necessarily. It depends on if you want to cover the gas block or leave it exposed.

You could get a folding front sight tower.  This just replaces your FSB with one that flips.  The gas block is an integral part of them.  There are a few companies that make them, PRIs is a good one.  ARMS makes a pretty good one that looks just like the standard front sight except it folds down.

ITs pretty easy to do if you do the research and get the tools. What you could do is get you a low profile gas block ($20) and a Yankee Hill Tube free float tube ($75) and a Magpul Front Sight for around $30 from Brightflashlight.com (ask for Kevin) and they'll do the work for you.
