Is the purpose of the thin wire strand on an ARMS sight to act as a tether for the mounting screw? not really sure and wanted to ask those that might know.

Been a while since I messed with an ARMS mount, but I take it the bolt must be removed entirely to mount the sight. Basically dummy cord.

They got tired of people loosing that small nut so it got dummy croded to the sight.
