I've got a Fast Field II and an offset rail. I just mounted it the other day, but the site isn't high enough for me to get a good site picture. In fact, I have to pull my face off my stock and lower my eye to almost parallel with the stock to get low enough to see the red dot.
Has anybody else experienced this? Are there any tips to adjust this? |
| I had a fast fire and tried the offset thing with my acog. I used a mount that came off the flat top. I can't say I had the same problem. My advice though would be to try a small Mini red dot riser to raise it up if you feel it is set too low. Yankee hill makes a cheap one. Also make sure the mount is set up properly. I know the Daniel defense mount comes up from the side rail. Mounting that on the flat top could cause a problem. Good luck! |

What offset mount did you use?
This is the mount I use and have no issues what so ever: Weaver Tactical Offset. DD is another good choice. Many of the 45 degree offset mounts do not "elevate" the optic far enougt away from the receiver. |

I've got a cheap UTAC Rail.
Looking at things, I really feel like the the site needs to be at least an inch higher off the rail for me to get a good site picture, but this seems really high to me... |

You are not going to need an addditional 1". That would be way too high. I would give the Weaver mount a try. If that does not work, an offset MRD may not be a viable choice for you. An alternative would be buying a mount that installs directly to the scope tube or takes place of one of the scope rings. |
