I have several new Colt bolts and some had a dot of white paint on them and some don't. What does the white dot desinate? Thanks, Andy

That is a very good question and I don't think anyone will really have a really complete answer to it. I am guessing it is some type of mark that was used at some point of the bolts Mfg. or inspection.

My 6920s bolt has this too.
I had assumed it was a dot of grease or some such.

My 6520 had the white dot of paint. After 300rds it's gone.

iw originally looks like a C, its just a mark to see its MPI tested at a glance

My question is: why do some bolts have it and some don't? I have two MPC marked bolts that had it and I just put a MPKC that has it in my new LWRC piston upper.
