Had my dealer order one and it just came in today. Are these accuracy tested at the factory? The reason I ask is that it appears to have had a scope mounted on it at some time. When I stripped it down I could also tell several rounds had been down the tube???

No, not test fired for accuracy but test fired. At least thats my understanding. Where did he order it from? I just picked mine up Tuesday evening and there was no scope marks. Looked like a couple of rounds may have been through it, thats it.

I'm very sure the factory does not mount a scope to test fire. But the factory does test fire the rifle before sending them out.  Your gunshop or dealer probably put a scope on it

damn that sucks.  nib should not have scope marks, factory test firing yes.  hope they are not sticking returns/swaps on new rifles instead of selling seconds/blems.  you know what happens when demand goes up, quality control usually goes down.

Rifle came straight from DPMS to my dealer. I was there when he opened the box. I did have another guy suggest the marks might be from the action block used when the barrelnut/handguard was tightened??? It's nothing thru the finish or I would send it back. But it is evident in the right light.

could be but probably not.  they probably use the receiver device that goes inside the receiver, they may have a normal clamshell style at the factory, just never seen one available.  as long as the rails arent damaged or the slots have thread marks.

Mounted a 16x SS on it today and went to the range. Windy, raining, and dark cloudy sky made things challenging. 4-5 shot groups averaged 5/8" and all 20 shots could have been covered with a quarter at 100 meters! Very consistent. This was with FGMM. Shoots right there with the Stoners. Wish I could get the AR-10's to shoot like that...
