| I bought my AR from a friend because he had put a left handed upper on it. It has a DPMS lower. My question is how is the quality with DPMS would i gain any thing by replacing the lower with a different brand. I was thinking of replacing it with a Stag lower just so I can say i have a Stag Arms AR |
| There is nothing wrong with DPMS. I have a few and most of my friends do as well. It is a " lower" as well. Almost nothing wrong with any lowers out there. I don't think you will gain anything by going with Stag other than having a complete Stag Rifle. You will always be able to sell the DPMS lower. The choice is yours, but don't just attempt to get rid of it because you think it is junk. |

The lower itself should be fine. Instead of replacing the whole thing, I'd just upgrade the trigger components and keep the DPMS parts as spares. I agree, I changed out my stock DPMS trigger for a Rock river Arms two stage. Then you can let your groups prove that you have a good rifle. Sscott |

Never been a fan of DPMS anything, however, it's not very hard to make a good lower. So long as this lower was built with decent parts, you should be just fine. This... Even the FP retaining clips aren't spec. Lower is probably OK, but you couldn't give me any of their parts. |
