I'll be getting a 16" Mid Length from PSA soon, and I already have a Troy DOA BUIS to put on it. But I'd like to ask for suggestion's for what Scope to mount.
I really don't think that I'll need some big honking thing that's going to double the weight of the rifle. I have been looking at the Firefield FFP 1x6, Nikon 223 3x9 and PA FFP 4x14. Of these the Firefield probably offers the Better Widest range, plus it can be had with either their CQB Donut or Mil-Dot Reticle. I do believe the PA FFP 4x14 is probably too much glass, but it does works great on a friends 20" A4. So, If anyone wants to give any suggestions, Please do. And don't forget to add the reasons behind your suggestions. I'm still not decided, AND I'm trying to keep the price under $300. |

Don't forget to include the cost of a mount. I think Nikon is doing some sort of free mount with a scope deal on their p-223 and/or m series right now (or maybe it ended at the end of march).
I put a Nikon on mine just because I've had good luck with Nikon's and I liked the price/features. I can't really review it at this point as I haven't had the chance to shoot longer than a 25 yard indoor range. I'll know more as the weather warms up. |

From my prospective, 3-gun, the 1-6 would be my pick of the bunch because of the true 1x for close fast shots.
Judging from the reviews on optics planet the Firefield FFP 1x6 reticle gets really busy at 6x almost unusable. What are you using it for? for 0-300 yards (I use a 1-3x Leupold out to 450) and less than $300 I would recommend a Weaver 1-3 http://www.amazon.com/Weaver-V-3-1-3X20-Riflescope-Matte/dp/B0000V2EBM It is true 1x on the low end and has good glass. With a 200 zero you are good out out 300yards (-9-10") or out to 225yds with a 100 zero. Several 3-gunners have and do use them because they are fast, good glass and rugged. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98491&hl=+weaver +1?? |
