I'm planning on buying a YHM FF diamond cut handguard(as soon as BrightFlashLights gets them in). Whats the difference in the mid length and the specter length? They're the same price and look to be the exact same length.

Midlength is 9.2 in., Specter is 9.675 in. (per the YHM site)

Depends on whether or not you want to cover the gas block.

Thanks.   So a midlength wont completely cover a carbine lo-pro gas block but the specter will?

Sounds like I should go after a rifle length. I would give a longer site radius too.

If you have a carbine gas system, the block is just over 7 in. out. On a midlength gas system, the block is just over 9in. out.

A midlength hand guard WILL cover a carbine lo-pro block.
