Not too worried but I'm buying this with the understanding it was once on a machine gun. The seller said the upper was modded to allow auto sear relief. I know back in the early days of conversion when these things were cheap you had all sorts of things so wanted to see if anyone had some input on if this was common practice? Planning on buying it regardless but just thought Id ask?

I've seen a few WECSOG relief jobs and that's by far not the worst.

Lower is the machine gun. Upper is just an upper. The barrel or lower determine what stamp is needed if any.

saigaman, so that is an SP1 or other commercial upper?  Most of the retro uppers would already have that relief as you probably know. I guess anyone back in the day that had a full auto lower and and a commercial upper might would have done that. No biggie. Sure wouldn;t hurt to have someone clean it up on a milling machine, for no other reason than cosmetics.

If your using it just as an upper  . your good.   I would just pass some Emory  cloth sandpaper  like 400-600 to smooth out and some flat black  touch up..
