I have a buffer and buffer spring off a Bushmaster CAR 2 pos type stock. Will it work on a
5 pos milspec type tube. I am not sure if I should just buy the Milspec rec. extension or the whole mounting kit for my LMT stock I have on order. Any input would be appreciated.

There is no spring in the buffer, there is an action spring that works in conjunction with the buffer

Carbine length, is carbine length. The Milspec vs civ carbine receiver extension issue is all in regards to the exterior dimensions of the receiver extension.

Thanks, I knew when they refer to milspec vs. civ. it was in regard to dia. of rec. ext.
I just wasnt sure if for some reason the older CAR type stock used a different buffer and spring then The newer M4 type stocks.
So I have my answer, carbine lenght is the same .

So Now I just have to get a milspec rec. ext and I am all set..
