Ok Gents,

I am fairly new to the board, though i've been reading i for quite some time. Now i was going to purchase my first AR from a local gunshop i enjoy in the next few days, and while i went by there yesterday i noticed they are going out of business and are having a liquidation sale(bad for them, good for me). So i guess im just asking, all they have left are some nice Bushy's, the ones that caught my eye are the 16 in. Modular Carbine, the M4 type 16 in., and the A3 type 20 in., and a couple more i can't recall offhand. Are all of these good choices? I really like the look and feel of the 16-18" versions. Which one would you reccomend? We're talking like 30-40% off any of them. Or should i just buy them all? ;-) Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

This is the correct answer if you can swing it. It's not like they're going to go down in value, particularly if you can buy them at that kind of discount.

Thats what i was thinking. I don't have money for all of them, but at that kind of discount, i was considering getting a couple of them, as i would have enough to do that.

Yup, get as many of them as you can, or just charge it [8D]

Bushy has excellent name recognition and a good reputation so you wouldn't have any problems selling them.

Personally however, if I had to choose two of them I'd pick the two that appeal to me most and then forget about selling them. ARs are like rabbits, they will multiply very quickly once the bug bites you firmly on the butt. For example:

-Until recently I lived happily with two 20" A2 HBARs for over ten years.

-In September I bought myself a new Colt M4 carbine, bringing the total to three.

-Two months ago I started buying stripped lowers and parts kits.

-I just added a 24" varmint rig to the collection.

-Just last week I assembled two more stripped lowers and turned them into lightweight 16" CARs:

My addiction has progressed to the point that in order to feed my "habit" I'm buying gun parts, tools, and appliances at wholesale and selling them for retail in eBay to pay for it all.

Welcome to the addiction my friend-it's going to be a fun ride [:)]

Figure what the prices are, after all, 30% off a heavily marked up weapon isn't a good deal.

Now if you can get a great price, go for a couple of them.  You haven't given us an idea of the prices, so its hard to make a call.

Like Stickman said, just be sure that their "30% off" price is still a good deal. A lot of gun shops mark them up, then mark them down to MSRP. At least compare them to MSRP at Bushmaster.com. Usually you should be able to get most of their models $100 or more lower than MSRP.
