When I ordered my new upper from Bushmaster they were out of the milled front sight beses that I wanted so I went with the standard. My question is can I just mill off the top of the FSB myself or are they different internally?

Are you talking about the Vmatch?  You can hack off your FSB any way you want, as long as you don't hack up into the gas tube, and support areas.

Yes the Vmatch FSB is what I wanted but they were out of stock. I would just mill off the top of the FSB to make it like the Vmatch.
