Are there any flash hiders / compensators that are designed to direct the noise of the muzzle blast away from the shooter?  I'm not talking about suppressors here, and I don't really want to get into that game (yet).  I find that muzzle blast from a 16 inch barrel can be brutal, and this is a problem if I'm out hunting pests with it.  If there was some kind of compensator that kept the worst of the noise away from the shooter, that would be an awesome thing to have.

Would I be better off getting a 20 inch barrel, or is there really much difference between 16 and 20 on blast?

Noveske KX3, Levang compensator, and the troy claymore are the 3 that comes to mind right away.
