I was shooting my LMT 16" carbine this past weekend with guat. 5.56 and Wolf ammo and about one or two times per mag it would not lock the hammer back and I would have to recharge the rifle.  Is that short stroking or is it just when it fails to feed another round or lock the bolt back when empty?  I never had either of those two problems and it really only happend when I tried to bumpfire, happened once or twice just shooting normal though.  I have put close to 1000 rds. through my rifle previously without any problems.  Just wondering what might be causing this.  I read the tacked thread above about short-stroking and checked a few of the things that i could do easile and found nothing unusual.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

When bumping, it is possible to hit the trigger before the bolt has gotten close enough to lock, and the hammer releases, but rides the back of the carrier forward (light primer strike).

If the problem was only during bumping the rifle, then the problems in not in the rifle, but in your bumping technique.
