Why won't a FFL except from a private seller (joe citizen)

I see a lot of post on the EE your ffl must except from private person

Most of the ffl's I know won't don't it ... So that kind of narrows down the buyers pretty quick

Is it because the seller doesn't want to take time to go to an ffl and pay the transfer fee or there isn't one available to them close by?

My guy will do it, np, as long as Joe Citizen includes a copy of his DL so he can log the info into his book to do the transfer.

I would present this in your Hometown forum.  Your fellow Arfcommers can help you find one that will.

Probably a cost thing - the sending FFL won't do it for free, and the seller doesn't want to pay the FFL for his time on top of the shipping costs. (though they could certainly just include the FFL's fee for shipping it in the cost of the shipping...)

Possibly for some of them it's that they're not particularly close to any FFLs  who will ship a firearm for them, too.

The reason most FFLs will not accept from a non-FFL is that they've had a bad experience with idiots sending firearms without the buyer's information, or not including their name in the return address (required for the FFL's A&D book), or doing something really stupid like ship a handgun, or live ammo through USPS.

A lot of them won't accept it in case the intended recipient refuses to complete the transfer due to various reasons once it is received and they don't want to get stuck with it.

I think this has answered all my questions. Thank you all for taking the time to explain it all.
