I looked at the .40S&W on your website. On the outside of some of the boxes it reads,"Practice Ammo", and "Not for LE use". Why are they marked in this manner, i.e., are these not good defensive loads.? Thank you. |

Brown boxed, generic labeling, bulk quantity. My first guess is that they are seconds with slight defects. The "Practice Ammo" and "Not for LE use" is probably a cover there a$$ legal issue. I would be hesitant about using it for self defense. You want ammo that you know will fire every time the trigger is pulled. This stuff would leave some doubt in my mind however slight. M.M. |

It seems about a year ago, (maybe more, maybe less) that Speer had problems with a bad batch of primers. The primers were too hard and would sometimes not ignite. There was a recall issued for the ammo with these flaws by way of lot numbers and that was that. Now I'm not sure if this is related or what, but this is probably some of that ammo from lots with those primer issues. Being that it has the "Not for LEO use" warning on the box, you have to assume there is some sort of reliability issues with the ammo and it's not intended for use in life or death situations. But what this ammo can do is provide a great source for practice ammo. If you have a .40 or a 9mm that you use Speer Gold Dot in, you can buy a bunch of this stuff as same POI training ammo. And if you will notice, Ammoman has it priced to reflect this....as it's about the same price as cheap FMJ loads. So buy all of this you want as training ammo, just don't use it for self-defense. |

Hey new guy, If you don't get an answer quick enough on the AR15 board, try e-mailing us direct. We have been swamped with sales from the Gold dot ammo and other reasons. We don't reply to all messages on the board but we do reply to all e-mails. I figured i had better reply to you after seeing all your BTT, bumps and hijacks about it on other threads. This LE ammo is reclassified for practice and not good for LE or defense. If ammo does not meet their LE standards for one reason or another, they reclassify it.Any other questions feel free to e-mail Speer. We do however guarantee every item with sell with a 100% money back guarantee. In the future if you don't get a response whenever or wherever you might post your question to us, e-mail: Thanks Eric the ammoman |

Quoted: Not only is that a stupid thing to say, it also shows you have a problem reading post counts. Take a chill pill man! Eric's one of the good guys! He's got a business to run and he also is the "moderator" of his own forum here on ARFCOM: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=2&f=104 He can't be everywhere! not only did he give you a link for direct contact, but you also have the option for him and any other member of ARFCOM of sending an IM or e-mail via a header next to each posters name. |

He is great to deal with and will bend over backwards to make things right. Notice the smiley? It was in jest. AND, if Mr. Impatient didn't get a responce, HE should have emailed or called him direct. |

One nice thing about those "practise only" loads - you get pretty proficient at FTF drills. BTW, people should keep in mind this is a PUBLIC forum and therefore not the most efficient way to contact a retailer. Now, I gotta go see if Colt answered my question on the Industry Board re: catalogues. |
