I've read a few posts where folks have been taking off their rear lens cover on their Aimpoint when they are using the magnifier.

While I understand why folks do this (the cover gets in the way of the magnifier) what I don't understand is why not just turn the cover so it flips to side (the side opposite the controls)?

I haven't tried this yet but hopefull will soon as I'm waiting on delivery of an M3 w/magnifier and mounts this week or next.

I found leaving the rear cover exposed/open, it will bend when placed in a case.Mine didn't want to seat fully around the ocular lens after bending.
Also it saves time when you are attaching the Magnifier, during an zombie attack.

Aimpoint is now selling see through lens covers, if you get them you will not have to open your lens covers while using the 3X, I flip mine open only when I am not using the 3X

Cool. I will have to get some of those eventually.
