Just looking for a little help with a trajectory estimate, or a chart would be even better. I did some searching and know this question was asked before but couldn't find anything. The range I most readily have access to is a 25 yard indoor range. If I want an approximate 50/200 yard zero, how low should I be shooting at 25 yards? Thanks.
The second post in this thread by Molon should give you information you seek: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=495607
With irons, 1" low at 25. With an optic, it depends on the height of the sightline. If the optic center is the same as the sights, same thing at 25. This will get you close. Should be about 2" high at 100. If you use the iron sights for this, the rear sight range markings will no longer be relevant unless you modify the rear sight according to the IBZ. If you have BUIS and an optic, the optic can be on the 50 and the sights can be on the 25. After zeroing the BUIS at 25, you would flip the aperture to the large ring.
